Keyboard is flaking on me

My space key is starting to not register a lot of touches. Will the keyboard replacement program work on a system that has a small dent in it? The back corner, farthest from the keyboard, has a flat dent from it falling once. I know it had nothing to do with the keyboard but wondering if that would void any warranty work.
