To get right to the point, I don't like my iPod's touch keyboard. Sure, it's designed fine, looks good, and it easy to hit letters, but it lags. Badly. As I type this post on my iPod, I press letters, and about a second later, they pop up and make the sound all at one time. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know how to fix it?

PS- it only happens in safari and the opera browser.

What generation is the iTouch?

Have you tried double tapping the home button and removing currently running unused apps?

It's the 4th generation (I got it in December). Yes, I have closed all apps. (In fact, I close apps after I'm done with them so I don't take up memory)

What else can I do?

No, I have a 32 GB iPod touch. It's the same size as the iPhone. The one you're talking about is the latest generation of the iPod nano. I don't think you can type on an iPod nano.

I hoped that this would be fixed in iOS 5.1 update, but it wasn't. It's very annoying! Hopefully someone can give me a hint. Is this happening to ANYONE else?

PS- I'm not jailbroken

This is due to a lack of ram,My iphone 4 doesn't lag while typing on it but the the 4th gen ipod I have does so I restored it to 4.2.1 now it is as good as new:)

Yea, I've noticed that when using an iPhone the keyboard doesn't lag. I think it has to do with iOS 5.

No it is to do with a bit of both RAM is hardware related the iphone 4 has 512 MB of RAM and the ipod touch has 256 MB of RAM plus IOS is increasingly requiring more and more RAM.

Ahhh... that explains it! If only it could have 2GB like my MacBook!
Actually the new iPad has 1GB of RAM so we aren't that far of that dream:D:D
But of-course as IOS gets more features it would use up more and more and 1GB will be to little for IOS.

Well, since mine is brand new, I'd hope that the next versions of iOS won't be too bad.
