I have a M2 MacBook Air. I managed to give my first a bath (split a glass of water on it 🫣), and I got a replacement this time last year which involved replacing pretty much every component. Unfortunately the spacebar on my keyboard is starting to give out.

What keyboard lifespan are people seeing with the MacBook Airs? (I also had several thin intel macbook pros over the years and their keyboards were terrible and need replacing far more frequently)

I was going to trade in for an M5 MacBook Pro in the new year (a Max or Pro), so it's pretty annoying that I'm potentially going to have to get it fixed for the next three/four months.

Data point of one, but the keyboard on my wife's M2 Air has been fine. We have had to replace the trackpad earlier in the year, however. I also replaced my M1 Air with an M4 around that time, and that keyboard had been fine for the 4.5 or so years I had it.

Thanks. The keyboards feel so much better than the previous generation of Intel MacBooks Pros and a search didn't bring anything up. I'm either unlucky or there may be a way to clean it (hopefully just be fluff that's crept under it).

The keyboard the pros did feel better though (I had a 16 for work last year), so looking forward to upgrading for more than just the bump in performance.
