Keyboard light not turning off

I don't generally need the keyboard light,so when I switch it off from the settings it is not turning off.Is anyone else having a problem?

turn off keyboard light

It is the same as in Lion:

You need to turn off the automatic adjustment of the keyboard backlight and then turn it off manually by pressing F5 button to lower the keyboard backlight until it is off.
