Keyboard Lights At Wake Up?

Is there anyway to set the backlight on the MBP keyboard to turn on when the computer wakes up, but before you enter your password? I have a 32 character user account password on my MBP and I find it hard to type it in with out the backlit keyboard.
 
Would be interested in the answer to this as well... Have often had to turn on the room lights in order to type in the password myself.

Or maybe I should just set a shorter password and learn to touchtype properly...
