iPod touch Keyboard problem and such

so I Just got the iPod touch and using it to type this post : D

I ran into some problem and I wanted to ask some questions. My keyboard suddenly lagged for like 10 minute (as in, lags for 5 seconds for every types) and I couldn't really turn the iPod off because Im trying to drain it and charge it again...and it got fixed o_o. Did any one have the similar problem?

Also, how many times should I charge and drain my ipod? I started to drain mine since it looked it was fully charged, so I put all the song I had and do things to drain it~
