Keyboard putting + sign every time I hit space bart

Hi,

My Apple USB keyboard is typing a “+” sign most of the time when I hit the space bar.

Any idea why or fixes? Using it on a 2010 MacBook Pro — yes, I know, that’s OLD, but it meets my needs and I will upgrade to the next 14”.

First, try restarting your MBP. If that doesn't work, then it looks like it may be time to replace the keyboard:
