I have a nTB MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017). When using this machine on conference calls, taking minutes is a bit of a challenge because the keyboard is very noisy. I have to keep muting/unmuting and every time I forget, there will be an angry comment from someone about "noisy typing in the background".

I have a couple of questions
- What generation of keyboard do I have? I think it's 1st gen, but not sure.
- Would upgrading to the latest TB Macbook Pro with the 3rd gen keyboard address the issue? Is it significantly silent? This is hard to test in an Apple store because of ambient noise.

I really don't like the TB, but I don't see a choice because I don't like the rMBA's screen.

Thanks.
