Keyboard shortcut to switch active window?

The title says it all, really— I’ve just set up my iPP to be able to use it with a monitor and magic keyboard from time to time, and I’m running into an issue of having a split screen (safari and Note or Number) and wanting to use control find, but it operates on the wrong window. Has anyone figured out a keyboard shortcut to switch which window is the active one?

I use cmd and tab but that does not work on split screen only open apps... following
