How do I find out what the keyboard shortcut is for a specific character in the 'special characters' window? (10.5.6)

(I know what they keyboard character is for the "â" key, but how do I find out for other ones from this panel?)

Thanks.

Instead of Character Palette (what you're looking at there), choose Keyboard Viewer from the International list. With Keyboard Viewer open, holding down modifier keys will update the preview of the keyboard to show you what character each key will produce.
