Keyboard Shortcuts not working

The apple pre set up F-shortcuts on my keyboard are suddenly not working like play/pause, skip,bightness up/down, volume up/down,
I have installed Steer mouse, USB Overdrive because i'm getting a gaming mouse soon and i want to be able to map buttons, and Cover Sutra trail because it looked cool.
I don't know what has caused it but it is very annoying

Go to System Preferences, Keyboard and mouse, and then Keyboard shortcuts. You should be able to get things back the way you want them.

cheers all fixed, i rebooted the mac. but now i have another problem

it was my dock spaces expose app switching etc but it was shortly shorted out
