Is there a page where all the possible shortcuts are mentioned. I’m not talking about the app shortcuts which can be seen by holding down command key. I just learned today that Command + .(period) invokes Escape key, which is a life saver for me. Just wanted to know if there are any other hidden common shortcuts that are possibly listed somewhere.

Thanks. Weird cause I didn’t find the ESC shortcut anywhere. Is that a recently introduced one?

Is there a way to close an app using gestures or a keyboard shortcut or something? Thought I saw it somewhere but I dont see it right now.

like where you can do control tab to go through them and hit some other button to close them?

Not by keyboard, because apple doesn’t really want you to be ”closing” apps.

You can swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see all your apps, then swipe them away to exit them, though. Usually there’s no point in doing that, unless the app gets locked up or whatnot.

You can close apps by pressing cod-tab to invoke app switcher, then cmd-q on the app you wish to close.

that removes it form the app switches but doesn't close the app. but I think thats what I was thinking of, it just doesn't do the end result.

You can remap the keys in settings! :) I remapped the goofy Globe key on the lower left corner of the keyboard to the ESC function. ( General>Keyboard>Hardware Keyboard>Modifier keys ) Helps to exit full screen apps.

Sleep: Command-Control-Q

works 99%, sometimes it just doesn’t

That sounds pretty useful

Yeah I saw that suggestion on a different post. But for the number of times I need to use ESC, I would just live with Cmd + . and use the globe for something else

Here are some useful shortcuts I use regularly:

Cmd + Option D - Show the dock
Cmd + Shift + 3 - Screenshot
Cmd + Shift + 4 - Screenshot and crop
Cmd + . - Escape Key

In Safari
Cmd + T
- New Tab
Cmd + W - Close Tab
Cmd + Shift + \ - Show all Tabs
Cmd + Shift + [ - Previous Tab
Cmd + Shift + ] - Next Tab
Cmd + L - Go to address bar

Good idea. I wish there was a way to remap the tilde key in the upper left to the ESC function.
