I bought an Oree Board 2 a few days ago (awesome looking, http://appadvice.com/appnn/2016/01/...d-is-made-from-a-single-piece-of-premium-wood ) but the bottom-left function key is more like a numlock than the Apple fn key (e.g. fn+F1 does not change brightness, it just executes "f1"), and there is no power button on the keyboard, which I use to disable the monitor (the key in that position cycles between bluetooth settings).
I have installed Karabiner, which is awesome and allowed me to remap the fn keys so everything works fine for that issue. For the power button, I use it all the time for the shift+ctrl+powerbutton shortcut which turns the monitor off. Unfortunately with Karabiner I see how I can change an eject key TO something else, but I don't see any way to change another key TO eject, and Karabiner doesn't let me set arbitrary shortcuts -- only the very specific ones allotted in its unwieldy/lengthy user interface. Is there any way I can remap, say, the paragraph separator key (only on ISO international keyboards) to shirt-ctrl-eject?
Edit: I see a couple other solutions here: http://www.jeffgeerling.com/blogs/jeff-geerling/force-sleep-display-2010-2011 like using hotcorners, but I always accidentally trigger hotcorners, so it'd be nicer to have it on the keyboard... not the end of the world though. Actually on a dual monitor setup I can just set it to one of the far hotcorners on the distant monitor which I'll never trigger accidentally. Still, it'd be nice to know for posterity if there's another way to make a "new" eject key.
Edit2: I heard back from their customer service and post rewritten. All keys are functional, just the "fn" and "cycle" buttons aren't what I expected. Pressing the fn key is actually much more like NumLock, i.e. turns the righthand side of the keyboard into a numpad (e.g. fn+M is 0, fn+j is 1, fn+k is 2, and so on) except it's not actually a lock, in that you have to hold it down.
