Keyboard/touch screen still unresponsive at times on 8.1

Some times I have to close out of the messages app and come back in to get it to recognize key presses. They fixed the orientation issues but I see they left this bug untouched. Nice..

I get this too. I'm using the Swype keyboard.

I think the problem is Swype honestly. I disabled Swype on my iphone and things appear to be working properly.

Even back in Android days Swype has always seemed to pause or make the phone hesitate for a split second.

Testing this now myself. Trying to see if it's a Swype issue or iOS issue. Rotating between TouchPal and SwiftKey to see if they dont' lock up and show the same issues.
