Firmware updates I think are not installed automatically. Everytime you check for updates, it shows up again because it didn't install the last time, but instead downloaded into your utilities folder (found in applications). Go to the folder and use the firmware update file. Make sure you don't have anything running and that your computer is plugged in. Also, don't use the keyboard when it tells you not to.

Well once again the users on macrumors are excellent! I went to the utilities folder, found the file, rand the update and boom all is great again! Thanks for the help!!

Helpmee..

Please, help...

I'm really getting desperate here.
I'm a new mac user, I've had a MBP for 2.5 weeks now.

The keyboard and mousepad just died yesterday... I've read that in most cases the /Application/Utilities/Keyboard auto update thingy works...
but I don't have it there, and when I downloaded it and tried to install it the machine says "The machine doesn't need this update" or "You allready have this update".

What to do ? Wipe the HDD clean and install everything again ?
