Keyboard won't light up on start normal?

So I updated to el capitan on my macbook 2015 15 pro with force touch and I notice when I boot up the first time or from a shutdown/restart the keyboard won't light up until after I enter my password to login in.. is that normal? I do remember before I updated the keyboard would light up from boot/restart.. any way to get the keyboards to light up ? Trying to look on settings but can't seem to find
