what are they suppossed to DO on the mac keyboard?

since, they don't take one to the END of a sentance for example, or FROM the end of the sentance HOME to the beginning?

Is there a way to enable this?

The keys were really only added for Windows compatibility in things like emulators, so they aren't especially useful. The arrow keys in combination with option and command are the real Mac equivalents.

They do serve as scroll bar shortcuts in most Mac apps, though.

I personally prefer the Home + End keys because if you have smooth scrolling switched on you get the cool scrolling effect, which you don't get with the "Mac equivalents"
