Greetings...I have been struggling to get the Mail app to work from both client Macs I have connected to my mavericks mac mini server. I can access Mail (under my Open Directory user ID) works fine from 1 client (macbook) and directly from the server itself.

However, when I try to access it from the client iMac...it keeps prompting for the pop 3 account password.

I "Think" I have it tracked down to a Keychain access problem. The ~\Library\Keychains folder contains a subfolder for each machine UUID that I use to log into my OD account. (See attachment #1). The Client UUID folders for the Macbook Pro (Ends with CEE2) and the Mac Mini Server itself (Ends in BA4c) contain files that I believe are keychain related. If I update the keychain from either of these 2 machines...the update is applied and the appropriate files show an update.

However, when I log into my account from the iMac (UUID ends in 4f92)...I cannot update the Keychain to add a "Local" item for my Pop3/smtp mail accounts. When I attempt to save it...I get an error stating "An Error has Occurred". Unable to add item to the current Keychain" (Attachment 2)

as expected...the folder ~\Library\Keychains\5339AF6A-0104-5FC0-97B0-CB588D754F92 does not get updated.

It "sounds" like some sort of permission problem...but I have tried Verifying/repairing the keychain, explicitly setting permission on the ~\Library\Keychains folder so that my account has read/write permissions. Nothing has worked.

Like I said above...I can update the keychains while logged in to the macbook pro and the server...just not the iMac.

any suggestions/ideas are appreciated.
