I'm using Keychain access to stash some 'confidential' information (website passwords and the like). I've created a new keychain with a different password that contains some secure notes. These are set to prompt for the access password when viewed.

I know that 1Password and other tools exist for this job, but I'd rather use a generic Apple tool.

- Where are the underlying files stored? I'd like to know as I'd like to back these up in case the lappie goes phut or missing!
- Are there any issues with copying these files from one machine to another, for instance if the machine were to be replaced?
- Is this a good place to sash this kind of data? e.g. is it secure?
