Hi

I wish to use Key chain since installing Mavericks last night

I've setup keychain via sys prefs icloud and will setup iphone 5 soon

Do I understand correctly that keychain can hold all my passwords/pin numbers etc?

If so where do I enter my details for future use?

Thanks

Stephen

Yes you can either have it generate a password for you (not a good idea imo) are create your own and it will sync across Safari on all your devices so you don't have to remember the passwords anymore.

Somewhat of a security risk as people who use your devices can login to any of your websites without a hassle, so I only use it on websites where none of my personal information is stored (such as paypal, amazon, ebay, etc)

thanks

I was hoping to use keychain for debit card pin reminder and various passwords

I previously used a android app'pocket' old xperia arc which really helped if I 'forgot' my pin number

you think its not adviseable to store pin in keychain, that kind off defeats the purpose:confused:

o.k. i' ve found how to 'add' a debit card iphone...not on macbook?

It is in this Safari pref. panel under credit cards. Just click edit and you can add a card.

I loved using keychain during the Maverick developer previews and missed it when they removed it. It was so easy to pay for things when it holds all your card details (except the 3 digit security code from the back). I'm glad it's back.

Thanks for the excellent advice :)

I had tried following incorrect instructions from another website which suggested
I choose 'prefs''passwords'

The 'autofill' info is what I want to use for my new/replacement debit card:D
