So I have an EXTREMELY annoying problem on my MacBook Air.

One day I completely forgot my password to my Mac (do not ask how it was weird after 2 years to not know it...) so I had to reset my password via my Apple ID as my computer was still locked.

Anyways now whenever I try and open any apps my Mac freaks out and continually asks me for me to type in my keychain password. How in the world do I get this to stop as it is making my Mac almost unusable.

Someone please help!

Keychain is locked at startup and when you login your login password is the same as your Keychain password, so the login process unlocks the Keychain.

When you reset your login password, that did not reset the Keychain password (by design), so now when you login with your new password the Keychain is staying locked causing the problems you are seeing.

To fix this you need to make a new Keychain following the process at the bottom of this page.

You will of course lose and saved passwords that were in the old Keychain.
