new to MBP 10.6.8 - not very computer savvy in general but not afraid to try things if I know how to put them back the way they were.

Yesterday I tried to change my login password (I'm the only user). It wouldn't let me because it said my keychain password was incorrect. I thought the keychain pw was the same as the login pw, but apparently not.

Eventually got it to at least accept my original password for logging in by running the install disk (following instructions from a post I found on this forum somewhere) but now a couple of things are different.

When I looked at the keychain stuff yesterday there were a few passwords listed. Today no passwords are listed. My login screen is now all blue instead of the stars and purple thing that I'm used to. The keychain is unlocked and I don't want to lock it because I don't know what pw it would want.

Thanks for this forum - I've never had to ask before because I've always found my help here without asking! :)
