For whatever reason, Keychain cannot correctly populate the login information for an SMB connection I have created for a Windows 10 computer.
The address for the connection is "smb://desktop/Media Storage"
When I initiate the SMB connection, I check the box "Remember this password in my keychain". Although there is only one Keychain entry for this network computer, it does not populate the correct login credentials after logout/restart. Instead, the username is different, and the password field is left blank. As a result, I have to manually re-enter the login credentials for the SMB connection every time I login or restart the computer.
The problem is that Keychain is populating an old username which is no longer valid, so the connection fails. However, I manually verified that the Keychain entry only contains the new username, so I can't even find a reference for the username that is being populated. Thinking the Keychain entry might be corrupt, I deleted and re-created it several times, but that didn't resolve the issue. This has been going on for a year or two now.
Help?!
