Keynote - Add Ons / Theme?

I was wondering if there's any way of getting the Apple-Keynote-like shimmer text transitions, etc, that make the presentation look really professional, but for Keynote '08. I know some of these have been added in iWork '09, but I really can't afford it at the moment (it's between iLife and iWork, and I think I'd get more use out of iLife...).
