I've done a presentation on my macbook and I want to present it to a group of people on a projector or an external monitor using the mini dvi-vga cable and I want to have the main presentation on the external display and the presenter notes and next slide option on my macbook screen. When I try, it is the opposite way round where the main presentation is on my macbook screen and the show notes are on the external display.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there any way to swap the display layout?

Thank you!

The Displays control panel in System Preferences allows you to set which display is the primary and which is the secondary, though I believe that mirroring might be required to do what you want. Also I suggest that you check the box that puts the display control in your menu bar. This can come in very handy if you have a problem during the presentation.
