Keynote guides help needed - stroke does not stick

Dear all,

I have been a very happy new Keynote user for the past few weeks, but now I have stumbled upon something that drives me completely nuts..

When I draw a stroke (or line) it doesn't seem to stick to any of he guides I have put on the screen. Other shapes stick nicely to the guides.

My settings are:
Show guides at object center: on
Show guides at object edges: on
Edges: on

I would be extremely grateful if someone can help me, since this is a feature that I absolutely need, and would drive me back into the arms of PowerPoint if I can't get this to work..
