Keynote image export problem

I'm using keynote to make custom app icons for Mavericks. When I export an image, I can choose what slides I want to export. Even when I do that, it's still exporting the entire presentation. Is there a fix for this, or do I need to wait for an update? Or is there a better app to make icons, that is free?

I would think that there are much better apps for making your own icons than Keynote, which is for designing "powerpoint" presentations. Try here:

As for Keynote:

Sounds like a good idea, but I have nearly 100 slides. I guess I could do 10 slides per presentation. So is pixelmator good at icons?
