Keynote: Inserting slides and matching format

I'm new to the Mac scene - but committed to a full switch, e.g. bought an iPhone, MacBook, signed up for the One-to-One classes... I'm tryin'

But until I'm even close to where I am with PC/PowerPoint, I need help with what must be an incredibly simple task - taking a slide from one Keynote deck and adding it to a different Keynote deck with a different format... and having it match the new format. You'd think (or at least I'd think) it'd be like Pages, e.g. "Paste and Match Style"... no dice. In PowerPoint, this is automatic - drop a slide behind a slide and it matches that slide... Oddly Mac-like

Any tips?
