So I need some advice from all you Mac experts...
Here is what I am trying to do:
I want to make a project over an album I recorded.. here it is if your interested..
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/in-serious-need/id443439176
Anyways.. it is sort of a long story, rock opera sort of thing and I want to make a project where the album plays and text of the story (lyrics and dialog) and the song titles float in and out of a black screen.. just like I can do wonderfully with a slide in Keynote....
I eventually want to export it to iDVD and make a playable dvd from this project...
Now my issues before I get started on this long project...
I have heard there are issues when exporting to Quicktime with stuff lining up... I have read about the "hyperlinking" the projects together and I could do 11 different projects for the 11 different tunes I guess... ?
Another thing is that I am going to automate everything so the transitions and text etc are "fixed" to check these you have to start from the beginning of the slide yes? you cant fast forward through or start at a specific point.. the thing is that some of these tunes are long and I just did the first 30 seconds of the album and I tweaked the timing about 10 times to get it to fall right... you see the preview in the little window of the "builds" as you do it but that is not against the music so I can't really see how they line up.. so you have to hit PLAY every time to see how your tweak now works... and if I just make a new slide for every new sentence or phrase then I click on that slide it starts the audio from the beginning!
My questions are: Am I missing something here? Is there another program that would work better for what I am trying to do? Is there a way to start the project and "fast forward" to the point your editing to check it against the audio... is there a way to "embed" the audio so that it always starts at the 0 point of the project?
I thought about using iMov (even though I hate that program) but I'm not sure how to just run the audio with a black screen.. plus there are WAY less options of how to get text to interact with the screen.... I like everything about how Keynote works for this project but it seems like the editing might just be a nightmare...
uggg...
any help is greatly appreciated!
