Keynote on MBA and Keynote Remote on IP4

I have the remote app on my iphone 4 and i have keynote on my MBA. I went under preferences (on the mac) and placed a check mark to allow remotes for ipods etc but my phone is not showing up as a device. Nothing is. Anyone else ran into this and know where I might have a mistake?

I believe there are two remote apps available from apple. One called remote and one called Keynote Remote. Also are they both connected to the same wifi? Hope this helps.

they are both on the same wifi; and yup, i have keynote remote. i have used it to connect to Keynote on my ipad but never used it with keynote o my mac.

Still stumped.
