Hi all,
So on thursday I'm giving a presentation and I want to use my macbook and iphone for it. I have the Keynote remote app on my iphone and i can get it to connect over a wifi network, but not on an adhoc network. Here's what happens.

I create and Adhoc network on my macbook and name it, say, iphone
Then I see the network on my iphone and choose it
A check mark appears next to the network but it doesn't connect
I tried clicking static instead of DHCP but that didn't do anything...

Can someone please help me?

i had a similar problem with keynote remote on an adhoc

i simply put on the iphone a static ip, subnet and gateway address.

you have to put a gateway address to trick the iphone into thinking there is internet so it can route all network traffic to the wireless.

you should also set a static ip address on your mac in the same ip range as your iphone

that's what worked for me.

alternatively, you could turn on airplane mode and turn on wifi (might work, haven't tried)

Connect your iPhone to the AdHoc network and set the following values for the IP Settings:

Static
IP Address:
10.0.0.1

Subnet Mask:
255.0.0.0

Gateway Address:
10.0.0.2

---

On your Mac, set the IP settings to the following:

Static
IP Address:
10.0.0.3

Subnet Mask:
255.0.0.0

Gateway Address:
10.0.0.2

---

That's what I set mine to. Keynote Remote should now be able to see your Mac.
