keynote remote on iphone 4

I have the remote app on my iphone 4 and I am trying to sue it with keynote on my ipad. My ipad is not "seeing" my iphone. Has anyone else ran into this and have a workaround?

You can control Keynote on your iPad with Keynote Remote on an iPhone 4.
