I have set up a few slides in Keynote 09, but I am having difficulty previewing the slides in the slideshow mode.

The video tutorial for Keynote 09 says to highlight the first slide, and then click onto Play button at the top of the menu bar. I have also set up an effect and duration time for each slide, and I have set Start Transition to "Automatically," with a delay of 0.5 seconds.

As a result, when I attempt to preview the slideshow, one of the slides in the middle of the slideshow is hightlighted, and then the process suddenly stops.

Thanks for any tips on how to correctly set up the slideshow within Keynote 09 so that the slideshow can be previewed, and ultimately played, in automatic mode.

It sounds like you have a build effect or transition to next slide set at "on click" rather than "automatically".

When your slideshow comes to a stop, press esc to come out of it and check the build and transitions settings for that slide in the Inspector.

Preview problem in Keynote

Hi!
I am having the same problem in Keynote. All my slides show on the left in thumbnail form, but when I click "play" the presentation starts at Slide 179, transitions to Slide 180 and stops. I checked slides 179 and 180 and they were set to go automatically.

Are there any other suggestions?

Thanks!

See my above. Sorry but it's generally as simple as that. It surprising how easy it is to miss a Build setting. Does the show continue if you click the mouse?

Also the slideshow will start at whichever slide is highlighted, so make sure that your first slide is highlighted if you want it to start at the beginning.
