As usual, you've got a few posters trotting out the usual "fail," "underwhelming," "where is X feature, doom." All of these opinions are wrong.

Today's presentation was great. Tim Cook and J. Ive are delivering exactly what consumers want and need. An iPad mini retina with killer specs. Great screen, great size, and the horsepower under the hood so you don't feel like you are making a major compromise by getting the smaller form-factor, if portability is key for you. It is going to sell huge this holiday season.

And the iPad Air is excellent. Great specs, great screen, and a fantastic size/form that is going to drive sales. If you are looking for a tablet that just works, this is the device you want. I'm picking one up for the GF, I'm pleased with what they did to the flagship iPad. It's really good.

Prices are fair too. Spend a little more on the hardware, and you get software that works and is a pleasure to use, along with regular updates and upgrades from Apple for years to come.

Contrast the Apple ecosystem with all the other garbage manufacturers out there who release something, then abandon it six months later. Windows 8 and 8.1, utter garbage. Android phones by Samsung and LG that get zero updates because those companies don't care, crap. Surface tablet, the most worthless POS in the M$ store.

I don't care if I sound fanboish; I buy tech for our business, and I am telling you straight up we have saved a boatload of money by buying Apple and OSX products. They last longer, in some cases half a decade longer, and our tech calls are non-freaking-existent. The products work, people understand them, and they can use them to get things done without the technology getting in the way. And this applies to the iPads -- they work, and work great.

On top of the nice iPads, Apple also is giving its customers free OSX 10.9, with excellent backwards compatibility (I installed it clean on a 2007 iMac for my lady, it's working flawlessly). A seven-year old Apple computer, and it runs better than most PCs on Win 8. Truth. iWork and the other apps are icing -- and for anyone who does presentations, Keynote is superior in every way to PowerPoint, this is from someone who uses it for business.

These new iPads deliver, and they are the best hardware and software package on the market: best specs, best form factor, best OS, best hardware/software integration. Now hurry up and release them so I can buy one of each for me and the woman.
