keypad comes on and beeps while I'm on phone

Haven't seen this problem listed anywhere else. While I'm talking on the phone, if my cheek gets anywhere near the screen, it opens the keypad and then starts hitting keys and making loud beeps. How can I stop it from opening the keypad when I'm on a call?

Is something blocking your proximity sensor, such as a case, or screen protector.
