I have the 13" touch bar MBP. I noticed that when I close it, I hear the screen slightly hitting the keys. And when you look at the screen when it's off in the light - it's got all key marks. You can rub them off with a microfibre cloth but it this normal?

I recently had my mid 2014 rMBP's screen replaced by Apple due to a pretty severe case of button scratches on the screen, gratis..thanks Apple : )

Get in the habit of giving the key's a wipe before closing b/c this has been an issue for a long time although I can't say I've ever had one that produces an audible upon closing. Have an Apple Store check it out.

Thanks for the help. It doesn't always make a sound when closing the laptop just sometimes.

I've seen a number of threads on this topic, so while it may not be normal, it appears to be more common then prior models.
