kill the update badge, revisited...

i know i posted about this some time ago...i want to KILL the update badge on the appstore; there are apps i DON'T want to update. i hate that apple won't let me selectively hide an update (as they do on the mac)...

i tried 'update hider' but it does not seem to work for me (ios 4.3.1).

anyway to either:

a. remove the badge completely on the appstore app.
b. remove it for a particular app
c. get an iphone 5 right now...

EDIT: works, and better than my own idea (a black magic marker to cover the badge...)
