Strange problem. I upgraded Mac Desktops and my Kindle 2 won't initialize (mount) on my new iMac. It worked fine on the former machine. Disk Utility reports that the Kindle is MS-DOS (FAT) format. I can reformat it... but I don't want to mess with getting the software and my books back on the Kindle if there's an easier fix.

Input appreciated!

Solved it

The problem was using the Keyboard USB port. When connected to the back of the iMac it's fine. I didn't think a flash drive (which a Kindle essentially is) would not mount - it was charging from that port.
