Just a quick question, Is the Kindle App on Amazon for Mac, the same as the one in the App store, and does it make any difference if it's downloaded from Amazon not the App store, for the MacBookPro?

Exactly the same. Just that one gets updated automatically through the app store and the other does not.
Downloading from Amazon directly will get you updates faster. Most of the time, they'll tell you to re-download their version instead when you have issues too.

thanks people, I saw grabs in app store after I'd downloaded from Amazon, and it looked like a different layout. Well, one thing looked different, minimal though, so no bother. Thanks again
