Anyone here use the Kindle app on the XS Max to read books? I know it has a super screen and text looks fantastic. But what about the whole Kindle experience considering the size of the screen and app functional quality. I mean is it good enough that you just use the Max instead of the Kindle all the time? Or is it just adequate?

The app works great. Text looks excellent. You could switch to just the app and be fine, but a Kindle is good to have for a distraction-free experience. It’s nice to “unplug.”

I prefer iBooks but also use kindle app as I used to have a kindle years ago. Went from iPad to iPhone 8 to Xs Max. I love it. Makes reading enjoyable. Especially in dark environments. I read a lot on my Xs Max. One less device to carry around. And I can read anything.

I use it all the time. I gave up on my kindle I don't read enough to deal with the hassle of keeping them synced. I mostly read at night and the max is better for that.

I never read books on my phone, I find my Kobo Aura One less stressful on my eyes and a better size/screen ratio.

Thanks for info folks. Yes, I am primarily wanting to use the phone as a reader whilst traveling so I don't have to carry another device. Kind of wed to Kindle due to our local libraries providing free loan of books in that format. I have never used a Kindle app on a phone or PC so I don't know what is involved for synching to the Kindle, or if that is even possible. Might just have to download separate copies to the other devices? Something more to research.
