Is anyone else having problems with the Kindle for Mac app under Lion? I can't seem to connect to the Archive, or re-authenticate with my login credentials.

Court denied Apple's request to stop Amazon from using "App Store" for Amazon's site, so they disable Amazon's Kindle instead??

Well, FWIW, I removed the install that I had, and reinstalled direct from Amazon. No dice.

Removed again.

Installed the version from the App Store, and am now golden.

Can anyone tell me where it saves the files?

In Snow Leopard when you downloaded to Kindle for Mac it saved them in a folder in Documents > Kindle Content. Now I can't find them.

I just got off of the phone with Amazon. If you check out their official download page for OS X ( http://www.amazon.com/kindleapps ), they have updated the OS X specs to require specifically 10.5 or 10.6. I was told that 10.7 is not currently supported and that they are working on a release but have no timeframe.

I actually want to know this as well, after going through my folders, i can't seem to find where my Kindle books are stored in Lion..

When I first launched Kindle on Lion it mentioned migrating my content to ~username/Library/Application Support/Kindle/My Kindle Content (whereas with Snow Leopard and earlier it had been in ~username/Documents/My Kindle Content)

But the ~username/Library folder is hidden by default. If you want to see it, open Finder, click on the 'Go' menu item and choose 'Go To Folder'. Enter '~username/Library' and click 'Go' and you will now be in the hidden Library folder. Navigate down into Application Support/Kindle/My Kindle Content from there and you'll get to where it's now storing content.

Though again, according to Amazon, Kindle for Mac is not working on Lion.

Just tried the Kindle APP after reading this post mine seems to work fine, even purchased a book to make sure, no problems downloading.

Interesting... it worked for me as well. I wasn't even aware that it was available through the App Store. I had downloaded mine from their website.

I had Kindle for Mac v1.5 and it wasn't syncing, retrieving my Archive items, or allowing me to re-register. I upgraded to the latest version (v1.6) and it was still no go.

I deleted the app and also what was under ~/Library/Application Support/Kindle and re-installed from the App Store. It installs a much older version (v1.2.3), but it works on both of the Lion-based Macs that I've tried it on.

I am on the Kindle app version from the App store and it's working fine. Wonder if they will ever update the App store version?

Thanks for the post! I had downloaded from Amazon site and had problems. Then I saw this and downloaded from the App Store and everything is working!

I've just tried to download the app from the app store as I was using the Kindle app from amazon and it too will not sync since lion!! But it's not there ie it doesn't show in launch pad and doesn't show in finder or spotlight
I press the Purchased area again in app store and the greyed out "Installed" changes to the "Install" again - what is going on?? any ideas guys?

Done anyone know why the kindle app from app store will not install please?

I press install, lauch pad opens and the icon shows up, with the bar filling up, it fllls up then disapears as the launch pad icons jumps up and down.

Check the app store purchases and Install is highlighted again as if it has checked and not found it

I found a workaround

Grammy!!! Thank you!!! I got the previous version here, just now: http://kindle-for-mac.en.softonic.com/mac/download It didn't like my already established Amazon password, so I plugged in the new one it sent me and then clicked on Manage Your Kindle, which asked me to log in (the info was already filled in with my old password there). It accepted the old password and the two seemed to merge. So far okay. Under Preferences > Update, I unchecked the box next to "Automatically install updates when they are available without asking me."

A million thanks!!!!!!
