I installed Kismac about 3 months ago & it worked fine. However I came to use it this morning & it failed to locate the Airport driver. I uninstalled Kismac & the Sourceforge driver, downloaded the newest versions of both, then installed the Sourceforge wireless driver (rebooted) installed Kismac & the Sourceforge wireless driver patch (rebooted) but still get the same problem. I select "Apple Airport Extreme card (passive)" in the driver pane of Kismac's preferences, but it just replies that it "can't locate your Airport Extreme driver". I'm at a complete loss as to what to do!

my kismac has the same/similar problem. starting the scan with the active Airport driver it writes "KisMAC is not able to load the Apple Airport driver, if you killed it by loading the Viha driver. Try restarting KisMAC."

when i start the scan with the passive airport driver it says "Could not enable Monitor Mode for Airport Extreme. Your Airport Extreme driver has not been found."

reinstalling kismac don`t helps. i assume that the problem came with the os x 10.4.9 update.

need help to... ;) how can i install airport driver itself and where do i get it from.

thx.

Actually, my Kismac now works okay - since the development in Germany stopped because of the new draconian laws, I happenned across a build by somebody else that seems to work, though I can't for the life of me remember where I got it I'm afraid.

ok, nice. congratulations... ;)

anyways, do u know how to install different driver for my airport card?

i have a C2D MacBook with the os x 10.4.10.

The Kismac installer will install the Sourceforge driver if you don't have it - you don't need to do anything.
