Hey all.
Here's my current setup:
MacBook Pro, Griffin FireWave, Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 (first generation, third set)
I had to get the FW because the PMs don't have an optical output. The FW has been an excellent device for those looking into it. Anyhow, I'm starting to get a hissing noise from the speakers.
I've disconnected the sound system completely by unplugging the FW and all other cables, cycled the power on the speakers, and I still get the hiss. After much rest and turning them on, the hiss is gone, but sometimes seems to return later.
I assume this is an amp/sub problem? The speakers are still absolutely solid...if after further testing this behavior continues, would I be able to invest in something like a new amp to where I can connect to the MBP via optical (to do away w/ the FW) and have 5.1 surround?
Ian
