I bought a pair of these a few months ago for use at work, which is a waste, I know. I'm in Cubicleland, so I rarely get to open them up, but...I'm here on my own this Saturday, and good gracious almighty Bob, I'd forgotten how much kick these things have. If anyone's looking for a moderately-priced set of iPod/laptop speakers, definitely check them out. Even being subless they kick copious arse. For $100 you'd be hard-pressed to find a better-sounding set.

Do they have a separate power supply? If so, is its output 12-14 volts DC? Just wondering about a direct hook-up to a lighter outlet on a boat or in an RV. I've done that with a pair of Yamaha speakers before for the iPod. The Bose Companion 2 will do it also.

Yeah, separate power brick. Pretty dainty connector...not sure of the voltage (I can check Monday), but the speakers run 15W apiece, so I'm sure it's not too much.

Thanks for checking. Doesn't sound like a boat or RV battery would do it.
