I will been getting a new iMac the end of this summer. I noticed in Switch 101 that my camera, a Kodak Z612, is not listed as one that is supported by iPhoto. Does that mean that I will have to use Kodak’s software? I really would rather not have anything to do with their software and use iPhoto as my default program. Is this possible? Thanks

Around 98% of cameras just work, listed or not. As long as the camera uses one of the standard communications methods then it'll work. If you have a local Apple Store I'm sure they'd be happy to let you go along and try plugging it in.
