Here is my take on Krusell's new leather pouch for the iPhone 4:

You may have recently read my review on the Piel Frama Wallet case and found out that after using that product that I was literally addicted to leather style cases. Today, we have yet another leather case review for you. Krusell is a very well known company that specializes in making quality leather products for electronic devices. I recently got my hands on the Donso Mobile Pouch for the iPhone 4. It features a very slim design that looks a lot like Sena’s version of the UltraSlim for the iPhone 4, although this seems to be a little bit on the thicker side. It has a pull strap for added support and reveals a very fine white leather for the outer coating. Interested to read more? Read on for the full review of the Krusell Donso Mobile Pouch for the iPhone 4 to see if this is the best pouch available for the iPhone 4.

Whoever though that a white pouch could serve as a very well case for the iPhone 4? In almost every instance I am either rocking a case on my iPhone 4 or wearing it naked with a protective skin that covers the sides, back, and the front. Although I like the added protection of a case, I do in fact love to use my iPhone bare. Ever since purchasing my iPhone 4 on day one I’ve always wanted to try out and see what it was like to use my phone naked with a pouch. Now, I finally can, with the Donso Mobile Pouch for the iPhone 4.

Even though there is nothing special about the packaging, I guess I could talk a little bit about it. It basically comes in a small little plastic box just like any other case, nothing more, nothing less. All right, now that we have that covered, let’s take a quick look at all of the openings and buttons, which there are only a few since this is a leather pouch. On the top of the case you have one single opening for the sleep/wake and the audio jack. Since you won’t be turning these on much since they are inside of the case, the only use for the opening is, of course, to actually pull the phone out, which is achieved by a pull strap on the back of the case. Also, you may notice a very small embossed logo on the front of the pouch, which is good due to the fact that most case companies emboss their logos in huge, ugly letters.

As far as the quality of the leather goes, it’s decent, although not the best leather I have ever felt. It is coated, so it will not feel exactly like natural leather. It is quite slippery and I found myself to feel some fear while rocking this pouch due to the fact that it may slip out of my phone and drop. Fortunately, unlike some other pouches, the iPhone fits very securely in the pouch and I feel very confident that the phone will not slip out or become loose while sitting snugly inside the Donso Mobile Pouch. Another great thing that I found is that the leather is very resistant to scratches and scuffs due to the coating that lays on top of the leather (this could also be because of the color).

The strap on the back of the case is pretty decent as well, although I did encounter a few issues while using it. First, I found that the strap sometimes caught on my pants pocket when putting it away. It would snag on a corner and pull my phone out the top. Also, while the strap does require a bit of force to pull on, I found that it is a little bit on the flimsy side when not in use. It seems to wiggle around, and, even though this is not a major issue, it may be apparent to some people who look at the smaller details.

I would also add that the case definitely has a more feminine look to it. I’m not one to be stereotypical, but, I can’t really see a guy rocking this. A lot of my friends though this case was very cool, and while some of them were boys, most of the mass majority were female.

Overall, I think that the Donso Mobile Pouch for the iPhone 4 is a great case. There are some issues that the average user may not notice, and, if you get past those minor setbacks, you will definitely enjoy this pouch. The leather quality is good, the durability is great, and for a person that likes to rock their phone naked, this will be a very good replacement for a case. You can pick up the Krusell Donso Mobile Pouch for the iPhone 4 on their website as well as their online store for 19 Euros (about 30 American dollars). Hit up the link to get your hands on one.
