Hi,

With all the talk about the nearing of newly designed models, or people buying the current line of macbook pros, i've been sitting back and enjoying the early macbook pro that I have. There have been temptations on buying something more current, especially with my education discount, but I am pretty happy with saving a nice chunk of change for the new designs.

I bought mine used a couple years ago with a broken screen and fixed it up for a total price of under $600. It's run great since then, and I have upgraded it to the current state. I have had a Speck case on it for quite some time now (I tried the incase hard shell, but just couldn't get passed the inability to open the screen easily past 90 degrees), and just applied the moshi palmguard today (the palmrest actually looked new up to this point anyway).

I'm sure many will say that the machine lacks the power that is needed, but it has been great for me in all that I need it to do. I am sure to be anxiously awaiting the new line, but until then I am thrilled to be a proud owner of a machine that has been reliable, dependable, and still looking great! Not to mention, it still looks like the top model that apple currently offers!

What's your take on your early macbook pro?
