From MacRumors own page on the guy (why does that even exist anyway?): "He gathers intelligence from his contacts in Apple's Asian supply chain, translating the information he gleans into research notes for clients."

Why is the MacRumors staff posting every single thought a supply chain analyst has about Apple's business practices? His opinions about what Tim Cook should do have no more relevance than the opinions of a random forum commenter. It has nothing to do with his area of expertise.

I can see the argument for posting about Gruber's rant, as Gruber has been in Apple circles for decades and is on Apple's media short list. Kuo is neither of those - these articles reek of either being posted to maintain the site in good standing with Kuo so he'll share paywalled notes, or for clickbait reasons to drive traffic. MR should be above both of those things.

Gene Munster used to be a stock adviser who was regularly mentioned in news about Apple. Now, it's Kuo Min-Cho.

Don't see a huge deal. He has insight into different possibilities for products of the future and current up and downswings.

Software drives hardware sales. Hardware sales drive stock prices.

Kuo has been in the Apple supply chain far longer than anybody else. He was reporting as early as 2010 with Digitimes. He helps move millions of dollars of assets at KGI based on knowing Apple's next moves with component suppliers.

Gruber is nothing but a blogger and podcaster.

Media shortlist means nothing. LOL. iJustine is on Apple's shortlist. Mark Gurman isn't invited at all. Who do you trust more regarding Apple's roadmap?
