I am gonna be forced to move into a new cubicle at work. We are growing and hiring people and they are giving us smaller cubicles so that they can put more of them into the same existing space. This space is very small. Barely have room to put a chair into the cubicle. Oh Joy!!!

In my existing cubicle I have 4 monitors. 2 for my primary workstation (Windows PC) and 2 that I used for multi tasking. I work in IT and I manage our Citrix Environment for a retail company. My end points are Thin Clients. I manage the endpoints as well. So these monitors sometimes have thin clients. Sometimes have my MacBook Laptop. And I even have a Mac Mini that gets used with them. And always working on other hardware as well.

The monitors I am going to keep are 2 very nice 24" monitors that support VGA, DVI and HDMI input. We already have monitor arms to get the monitors off the desks. So will be taking those with us. Or they may give us new ones. My windows PC is in a mounting bracket attached under the desk to keep it out of the way.

The devices I will be connecting have pretty much all outputs, VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, and Mini-DisplayPort. And for my Mac's, USB-C.

In the new cubicle I need to contain my hardware sprawl. Looking for a KVM to consolidate from 4 monitors to 2. Would need it to work well with the port collection I have above. I am just Wishful Thinking? Does such a device exist?

In the past (when we were a Windows only shop) I had a Startech Dual Monitor KVM that only had VGA. Honestly, it sucked. Would lock up all the time and I would have to power cycle it to get it working again.

What have you hardware tech people used to handle a similar situation?

Erm...

I use a Startech 2-port mDP KVM switch (4K). The wife kept wanting to use the monitor on my desk and, despite labelling everything clearly, she'd pull out all the cables from my Mac Pro to identify the one she wanted. Very happy with it, it's worked flawlessly.

Startech also make Dual Monitor KVM switches, here's a Dual DisplayPort version (https://www.startech.com/eu/Server-Management/KVM-Switches/2-port-dual-dp-kvm-switch~SV231DPDDUA2), but they come at a price.

I'm sure other companies would make something similar, if you'd prefer to avoid the Startech brand.
