Hi,

i have the following setup:

1) mac mini 2018 with ThunderBold display LG 27 5K
2) macbook air 2018

Depens what is use, i always change - switch the thunderbold cable from mac mini to macbook and vice versa, to use the 5K display.

My question: Is there a way, to use a KVM switch or something like that, so i do avoid to change - switch the cable all time?

Thanx@

There are only one HDMI and 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports on the 2018 Mac Mini. To take the advantage of LG 27 5K (please release the model you have), I recommend that you should use a DisplayPort 1.4 KVM switch.

With a DisplayPort 1.4 KVM switch, here are all the connections/setup it will work:
1. MacMini to the KVM switch cables required:
1 x Type-A-to-USB-B USB 3.0 cable to the KVM switch. (normally included with DP KVM KIT)
1 x Type-C-to-DisplayPort active cable: CAC-1557 from Club3D.

2. MacBook Air to the KVM switch cables required:
Plan A:
1 x type C-to-USB-B USB 3.0 cable to the KVM switch.
1 x Type-C to-DisplayPort active cable: CAC-1557 from Club3D.

Plan B: Since MBA has very limited Thunderbolt ports (some model only has 2 ), then this will be a good alternative solution to provide more I/O ports to the MBA - connected via Thunderbolt 3 docking station or mini dock.
1 x CalDigt TS3 plus Thunderbot 3 docking station,
1 x DP 1.4 DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to the KVM switch (come with KVM starter kit)
1 x USA-A-to-USB-B USB 3.0 cable (come with KVM starter kit)

DP 1.4 KVM switch: UDP-12AP-KIT

All hardware recommended in this reply had been totally tested and proofed working with MacBook Air 2018 and MacMini 2018.
